HISTORIC BUILDING RENOVATION

Orocon Construction, LLC was the majority partner in this joint venture with Carothers Construction, LLC. This project was awarded the contract through the Kansas City District Corps of Engineers for the Design/Build of the Historical Building Renovations at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.


The project consists of the renovation of four historic buildings on Fort Leavenworth with options to renovate an additional six buildings. The renovations include architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical renovations to Artillery Barracks Buildings 226 & 196 that were originally constructed in 1903; renovations to the Clothing Depot originally constructed in 1904; and renovations to Ordinance Depot originally constructed in 1875.


The work varies by building from electrical upgrades to full interior renovations. Restoration and preservation of the existing historical elements of each building will include protection of existing tin ceilings, crown moldings & baseboards, historical walls, and period doors and hardware.


Orocon-Carothers selected Treanor Architects of Kansas City, Missouri to participate as our designer partner on the project.

Orocon Construction, LLC was the majority partner on this joint venture project with Carothers Construction, Inc. This $9,823,045 contract was awarded by United States Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District for the Design and Construction for the new Tactical Equipment Maintenance Facility at Millington, Tennessee. The facility contains repair and maintenance areas, administrative offices, and ancillary spaces.

The new repair facility is approximately 39,000 square feet with over 200,000 of concrete hardstand on a 19 acre site. 

The facility accommodates the mission and staffing of approximately 23 full-time mechanics and support staff, as well as about 60 weekend Army Reservists. The facility provides adequate parking space for all military and privately-owned vehicles, and will comply with DOD minimum antiterrorism force protection construction standards.

This project meets LEED Silver standards.
